I grew up in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. The only thing you need to know about my old neighborhood is that it was once voted the worst place in America in which to raise children. I was raised by a single mother because my father spent the last 11 years of his life in prison before his premature death from an aneurism at the age of 37. The stage was set for me and my siblings to be added to the statistics of wasted lives that are so common in those neighborhoods. But God... My mother came to the Lord after my father went to prison and proceeded to raise us in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Because of her love, constant prayers and faithfulness to God and that of our Pastor, Rev. Roberto Vazquez, I am a minister today. My ministry can be summed up in one verse: 1 Corinthians 2:2 - For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
